The Bigger Picture is a series of free art workshops run by new arts education directive R-art. They facilitate a variety of interactive workshops exploring theoretical and practical artistic concerns, promoting exciting sustainable making, whilst actively undertaking innovative and responsible creating as a response to the role of the artist within the current environment. Throughout these sessions they introduce and explore a wide area of art practice and theory from cave drawings to the work of contemporary artists. Children are invited throughout the workshops to consider the concepts of environment, communication, aesthetics, composition and sustainability. The children draw, sculpt and make installations as well as producing hand-made paper and pigments, converse with colours and curate a group show.
R-art consists of; Leanne Elliot (BA Hons, Norwich School of Art & MA Fine Art, Prince's Drawing School, London) and Ita Maude Wooller (BA Hons Fine Art, Central St Martins, London), both practising artists.
