In complete isolation, an artist-in-residence will live in a forgotten tower above The Manchester Museum’s splendid Victorian Gothic Building for two months as an Urban Hermit. Reflecting on topical issues including biodiversity, climate change, extinctions and the future of the planet, the Hermit will draw their inspiration from the Museum’s collection. They will be communicating their experiences to the outside world through electronic media. A number of linked events will take place in the Museum throughout the hermitage, focusing on the themes of the project.
