Climate Camp | Art Auction for Climate Change

Art Auction for Climate Action

Sunday June 21th, 2-4pm

BASH studio
65-71 Scrutton Street
London EC2

The Camp for Climate Action is launching an auction of artwork. Proceeds will help build the massive social movement needed to tackle climate change.

The event is a collaboration between well-known artists and grassroots activists. Art has often been vitally important in building transformative social movements. The money raised will go towards increasing the reach of the Camp’s already high-profile protests, which have included camps against airport expansion, coal-fired power stations and the financial system driving the climate crisis.

Climate Camp has grown rapidly since its first event in 2006. This year activists will pitch tents at three large protest camps around the UK. Meanwhile other Climate Camps are springing up around the world. With few years left to rapidly cut carbon emissions, and with a growing focus on the Copenhagen climate talks in December 2009, a global mass movement is emerging to challenge the inaction of business and governments. We invite you to help Climate Camp make 2009 the year we cross the tipping point into real action on climate change. More funds will allow us to reach even more people at this critical time.
