Cape Farewell - Andes Expedition, Peru
Working with the Environmental Change Institute (ECI), Oxford University,
Cape Farewell will lead its first expedition outside of the Arctic to the Andes
in Peru. The Expedition with artists and scientists will visit shrinking
glaciers, cloud forests, lower forests, areas of deforestation & the
Amazon. The aim is that the trip will address a wide range of scientific,
natural and political issues surrounding climate change from discussions about
the shrinking glaciers to witnessing the impacts of deforestation on the
Amazonian lowlands. Following the expedition, Cape Farewell will work with the artists to
develop work for a future exhibition in their portfolio of engagement and creative
programmes engaging audiences in the subject of climate change.
