2 Degrees | ART, ACTIVISM AND THE GLOBAL CLIMATE EMERGENCY
16-21 June 2009

Six days of events and interventions taking place in and around Toynbee Studios, London

2 Degrees is Artsadmin’s week long programme of work by radical and politically engaged artists about climate change and our relationship with the environment.

According to reports last month, a catastrophic 2C rise in global temperatures could be as little as 40 years away. Artsadmin has brought together over 20 radical and politically engaged artists to create work that confronts climate change head on.

With as many events taking place on the streets around Toynbee Studios as in the theatre, we’re asking you to join these artists; whether by sharing an organic picnic, exploring London’s forgotten waterways, sampling an airline meal or foraging for food in the City of London.

Led by artists, 2 Degrees puts climate change at the very centre of how we live and work.

"We have to stop treating climate change as an urgent issue. We have to start treating it as an international emergency."
                George Monbiot, The Guardian

Two Degrees is funded by the European Union Culture Programme, Arts Council England and Artists Project Earth.
