British Wildlife Photography Awards
New competition to launch in April
The British Wildlife Photography Awards launch their international photography competition on April 2. The competition offers awards to photographers who highlight "the great wealth and diversity of the natural history of the British Isles".
"At a time when wildlife, habitat and conservation is to the fore," say the BWPA, "the Awards will encourage photographers, whether professional or enthusiast, to explore Britain’s natural and urban environments, and discover its bounty of wildlife species, from birds to mammals; insects to marine life."
A cash prize of £5,000 is offered to the overall winner, with the best photographs being exhibited at an awards ceremony at Hoopers Gallery, Clerkenwell, London from September 24, then touring as an exhibition throughout the UK. Categories will include British Wildlife Photographer, Young British Wildlife Photographer (under 17) and School and Youth Group.
